Vishal's career in medicine started in surgery where he completed Basic Surgical Training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, including registrar positions in Neurosurgery and ENT/ Head and Neck Surgery.

He has additional experience in a variety of other surgical specialties including, plastic surgery, general surgery, urology and orthopaedics. After a hiatus from medicine, he returned to a more balanced life and decided to do vocational training in General Practice in New Zealand. In 2017, he commenced training in Pain Medicine and gained hands-on experience in both non-interventional and interventional pain management at Sir Charles Gairdner, Royal Perth and Fiona Stanley Hospitals. He completed advanced interventional training as his area of interest. Vishal is particularly interested in the integration of interventional pain management and neuromodulation into holistic patient care. He believes patients should be assessed and treated from a biopsychosocial perspective and is available for consults in English or Hindi.
